CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme Refresher (SMSTSR)

This course will refresh and update Managers/Senior Engineers legal responsibilities, skills and knowledge regarding h&S, welfare and environmental issues.

Description

Introduction

This two-day interactive course will refresh and update Managers and Senior Engineers, and anyone holding a current certificate with their legal responsibilities, skills and knowledge regarding health, safety, welfare and environmental issues.

Who Should Attend?

This course is for Site Managers and Senior Engineers who need to renew their CITB SMSTS certificate before the current one expires. Delegates must be competent in English at site management level to complete this course.

Course Programme

  • The current focus of the Health and Safety Executive’s attention
  • Risk assessment and method statements
  • Construction Site Health, Safety and Welfare
  • Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR)
  • Behavioural safety
  • Occupational health
  • Overview and changes to the current legislation affecting construction.

Certification and Assessment

The method of assessment will be a combination of continuous assessment and a multiple-choice question test at the end of the course. Successful delegates will receive a CITB certificate, this qualification must be renewed every 5 years by attending the refresher course, this must be done before the current one expires or you will need to take the full SMSTS course again.
