EUSR Rooftop Worker - Safety & Access

Designed to support the safety of those individuals who access and work on flat rooftops.

EUSR Approved Training.

This course covers the health and safety measures and requirements for working on rooftops. It includes the associated hazards, looks at different control measures, safety systems and use of equipment. 

Course syllabus

Theory 

  • Legislation and safety standards
  • Rooftop hazards
  • Fall prevention
  • Assessing risk
  • Pre use equipment inspections
  • Emergency and rescue considerations

 Practical 

  • Pre use equipment inspection
  • Correct fitting of harness and associated equipment
  • Rooftop hazard identification
  • Selecting anchor points
  • Restraint/Fall arrest systems
  • Tying and use of knots
  • Managing suspension syncope
  • Setting up and using temporary work restraint systems
  • Working with edge protection systems
  • Using additional fall prevention equipment
  • Lifting and lowering kit

Certification is valid for 3 years. Approved by MATS/EUSR

Certification method: practical assessment & written test. Delegates are allowed 2 attempts to pass both the written test and practical assessment.

Prerequisites

Protective boots and gloves are required for the practical elements of the course.

All attendees should be medically fit to work.
