This course involves both theory and practical elements.

Prerequisites

Attendees should have valid industry required qualifications which include: Rooftop Worker - Safety & Access, Radio Frequency Awareness, Basic Tower Climbing and Rescue plus Emergency First aid at Height.

Protective footwear & gloves are required for the practical elements of the course.

Syllabus:

The course covers many areas including:

  • What is a microwave link - what makes-up a microwave link
  • Performance and calculations – signal level, what is a link budget
  • Transmission quality – power, fade margain, antenna gain
  • Cabling – cable terminations, N-type connecters
  • Link installation and panning
